Etymology: Sholicola, of masculine gender, is a combination of Shola (the local name [Tamil solai  thicket, grove] for montane forests in the Western Ghats) and the suffix -cola (from the Latin verb "colere"), meaning "dweller"" (Robin et al. 2017).
